Lightning Comeback? Laimer Makes Progress
The Bayern player continues to work on his comeback. Time is running out for a late call-up to the ÖFB team.
Konrad Laimer continues to make progress in his return to the football pitch.
The 29-year-old, who is currently sidelined due to an adductor muscle injury, completed exercises with the ball at his feet again for the first time on Thursday at Säbener Straße. With this, the Bayern player has taken the next step in his individual recovery.
However, it is still unclear when Laimer can return to team training. FC Bayern did not name a specific date for his return.
Race Against Time
There isn't much time left for a possible late call-up to the ÖFB team. Austria plays Ireland on October 1st and Kosovo on October 4th. Laimer was not considered for the first two matches against Israel and Kosovo, but a later call-up for the subsequent games was not ruled out.
Whether it will actually be enough for the Bayern professional to feature for the team during this international break remains to be seen.
